Latin Patriarchate School of Husn

Latin Patriarchate School of Husn

The Latin school of Al-Husn was established during the Ottoman period. It was affected by the events that happened in the region during that period. This fact has placed an immense pressure on the school as a result of the conflict between the great powers in the Natural Syria. The school passed through five stages:

1- The first stage: the Ottoman period (1885- 1920). There were 75 students and two teachers.

2- The second stage: East-Jordan province (1921- 1946). There were 283 students and ten teachers and five sisters. It became a secondary school at the end of that period.

3- The secondary stage: (1942- 1954). It became a secondary school with 450 students and 18 teachers and 5 sisters.

4- The actual stage: (1954- 1998). The secondary classes were cancelled in this stage because of some local circumstances. It has 700 students and 31 teachers.

5- The secondary stage again: (1998- ).

It is worth to mention that this school played an important role in the cultural and educational movement. A big number of its graduates have effectively participated in building and developing Jordan. We are proud that Jordan is a distinctiveand civilized country.
