اللقاء في منتصف الطريق

لن تزول جبهة العمل الإسلامي عن الخارطة السياسية ولن يكسر الإخوان المسلمون أنف الحكومة، لذلك فإنّ المواجهة الراهنة لا بدّ ان تنتهي بصورة ما الى التبريد، لكن ليس مرجحا ان تعود المياه الى مجاريها أو أن يتكرر المشهد المألوف من مناسبات سابقة ضاقت فيها الدولة ذرعا بمواقف وممارسات للإخوان ثم كان التصعيد الحكومي ينتهي الى طيّ الملف دون الوصول الى نتيجة.
في كل مناسبة سابقة كانت الحكومات تنتهي بتسجيل رصيد سالب، لأن القضيّة التي فتحتها كانت تغلق من دون ان يتغيّر شيء على الأرض أو يتغيّر موقف الإخوان. وفي مناسبتين، على الأقل، فتحت الحكومات معركة مع الاسلاميين حول النقابات المهنيّة ثم طوي الملف من دون أن يتغيّر شيء، وحتّى مجلس النقباء الذي صدرت فتوى قانونية بعدم شرعيته عادت الحكومات للتعامل معه كأمر واقع. وقدمت حكومة سابقة مشروع قانون جديد للنقابات اعطي صفة الاستعجال ثم بتفاهم مع مجلس النواب نزعت عنه هذه الصفة وركن على الرف.
الأمور هذه المرّة مختلفة قليلا.هناك ملفات لم يعد ممكنا أن تبقى في المساحة الرمادية الملتبسة, ملفات لا يمكن مداراتها بالعبارات الدبلوماسية والمجاملات. وازاء قضايا تتصل بالكيان الوطني وأمنه ومستقبل وجوده أصبحنا في مرحلة توجب على الحزب والأخوان وهم الجسم السياسي الأكبر حسم الموقف اذا كان لهم الاستمرار كقوّة شرعية رئيسية في البلاد، وعلى رأس هذه الملفات طبيعة العلاقة مع حماس والموقف من تيارات التطرف والإرهاب.
لا يستطيع الإخوان جمع المجد من أطرافه، خطاب الاعتدال الرسمي لحصد مكاسب الشرعية والعلنية وادارة المصالح والمؤسسات وخطاب التطرف الأيدلوجي للقواعد والشارع بالتماهي مع افكار ومفاهيم تساهم في تضليل وعي الناس وتنتج التطرف والإرهاب.
يخطئ من يفكر داخل الإخوان بتكتيك الصمود في لعبة عضّ الأصابع التي تنتهي بعودة الجميع الى القواعد السابقة من دون تغيير، أو أكثر من ذلك يفكّر بالتحدّي والاستعداد لما هو أسوأ على افتراض ان النظام لن يتحمل كلفة النتائج.
اللقاء في منتصف الطريق لا يعني تصفية ذيول القضيّة الراهنة وعودة كل طرف الى ملعبه، بل التقدم نحو مواقع جديدة، وهناك استحقاقات على الجميع بهذا الاتجاه. المطلوب من الإخوان توطين خطابهم وسياستهم لكي يلعبوا دورا ايجابيا في دفع عملية التحول الديمقراطي، ويقابل ذلك تشريع حقهم في المشاركة في القرار وان يكونوا طرفا اصيلا في التداول السلمي على السلطة التنفيذية، وهو ما يجب ان يكفله الاصلاح السياسي المنشود.

اليوم أول جمعة من العطلة الصيفية وتبدأ حالة استنفار من نوع جديد بدل الاسترخاء والتهيؤ لمشروع الإجازة الطويلة للعائلة.
مدن أوروبا تفرغ من أهلها وتمتلئ بالسياح، وتمتلئ الطرق الخارجية بطوابير لعشرات الكيلومترات باتجاه الشواطئ، أمّا عمّان فسوف تبقى ممتلئة بأهلها مضافا لهم جموع المغتربين العائدين من كل بقاع الأرض. وتغصّ الشوارع بسيارات المغتربين والضيوف إلى جانب سيارات عمّان التي كانت وحدها قد بدأت تخلق أزمة سير على مدار ساعات النهار وفي كل أوقات السنة. ولدينا تحويلات على التقاطعات بسبب مشاريع أنفاق قيد الانجاز ستساهم بحصّتها في جعل اختناقات السير في الحرّ القائض فوق حدود الاحتمال وسوف يتضاعف الطلب على المياه الشحيحة أصلاً. وبالمناسبة هل تتناسب الزيادة في نسبة الضخ مع الزيادة الهائلة في الحاجات وعدد المستهلكين هذا الصيف؟!
هناك همّ الأولاد أيضا؟! ماذا نفعل بهم هذا الصيف؟ حين كنّا اطفالا في القرى والبلدات لم يكن السؤال مطروحا أبدا. فخارج بوابة البيت مساحات لا تنتهي ليعيث فيها الصبيان لهوا ولعبا. لكن في عمّان العمارات والشقق يوجد فقط القلق من الشارع الذي قد يقطعه ابنك بغير انتباه، وسوف تشفق عليه من البقاء طوال النهار أمام الشاشة اللعينة فيقولون لك عن نواد وتقرأ عن عروض لبرامج للأولاد، سخيفة وليست رخيصة وتلزمك ببرنامج يومي للتوصيل والإعادة. بالمناسبة هل تفكر أمانة العاصمة ببرامج للصيف؟ وهل تفكر وزارة السياحة ببرامج على غرار ما فعلت سابقا لتشجيع السياحة الداخلية؟
نبقى في عمّان. كيف يمكن جعل الصيف في عمّان أكثر احتمالا، هل تعدّ الأمانة أفكارا؟ هذا الأمر يشمل عدّة جبهات كل واحدة أكثر صعوبة من الأخرى ابتداء بأزمة السير مرورا بأزمة المياه وانتهاء بغياب متنفسات ومرافق صيفية مقنعة في الخدمة والكلفة للعائلات.

A last-gasp goal from substitute Oliver Neuville gave Germany their second successive Group A victory against Poland in Dortmund on Wednesday, 14 June 2006.
Germany, who had been frustrated for the vast majority of the match through a combination of poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping from Artur Boruc, were grateful when the Borussia Monchengladbach man side-footed home in the first minute of added time.
The result does not guarantee the hosts qualification for the Round of 16, but it leaves them with one foot in the knockout stages.

2': Amid incredible noise and a fabulous atmosphere in Dortmund, Poland goalkeeper Artur Boruc came under early, but unfair pressure, from Miroslav Klose and referee Luis Medina Cantalejo blew for a free-kick close to the goal-line.
9': Poland striker Maciej Zurawski got a low shot on target, but it lacked power and Jens Lehmann dived on it with ease.
10': Klose broke free in the box and tested Boruc with his left foot, though the Pole dealt with it superbly.
20': The sizeable Polish contingent in the stadium roared with excitement as Ireneusz Jelen appeared to have found space to shoot on the edge of the German penalty area, but last defender Per Mertesacker did just enough to put him off his stride.
21': Philip Lahm’s left-footed cross was met by Klose with a flicked header and the ball passed agonisingly close to Boruc's post, but just wide.
27': Jelen raced down the left flank and cut inside before sending a weak shot into the grateful arms of Lehmann, with disappointed Polish team-mates in good positions in support on the right.

خطاب التطرف الذي لا يجد حرجا في المجاهرة بالتعاطف مع الزرقاوي يراهن بالتأكيد على مشاعر الغضب والإحباط في أوساط الرأي العام إزاء ما ترتكبه اسرائيل من جرائم. لكنها في الواقع القصّة القديمة اياها بدءا من مذابح دير ياسين، فالمواجهة مع اسرائيل و"من همّ وراء اسرائيل" كانت أداة التعبئة للتيارات الأيدلوجية الشمولية المتعاقبة اليسارية والقومية والإسلامية، وهي الجسر الذي عبر عليه كل مشروع شمولي للهيمنة على المجتمع والوصول الى السلطة، لكن الذي حسم الصراع بيننا وبين اسرائيل أول مرّة هو نفسه ما كان يحسمه في كل مرّة لاحقة وهو ميزان القوى. والتخلف هو كلمة السرّ التي لم يعترف بها أحد ومن تجليات التخلف أيضا عدم الإقرار بالواقع، وبما ينبني عليه من استخلاصات، وهكذا علينا ان نعيد المأساة مرّة تلو المرّة ونسجل خسائر فادحة مادّية ونفسية تقودنا الى مهاوٍ وقيعان أكثر عمقا.
آخر ما حررّ على هذا الصعيد أن يصبح الأرهاب هو السبيل والتفجيرات الانتحارية هي الردّ، ليس فقط في فلسطين بل في كل مكان، وفي اتجاه يمثل ذروة الغلو في النكوص والتنكر لشروط الحضارة والتقدم ونشدان الخلاص بأيدلوجيا الموت والدمار.
خرجت هذه الانفلاتات القصوى وغير المسبوقة من صفوف التيارات الإسلامية. وداخل هذه التيارات كان يفترض لهذه الظاهرة المرعبة أن تحرك مراجعة عميقة وتاريخية فكرية وسياسية وبرامجية، وفي كل الأحوال الاضطلاع بمهمّة ومسؤولية التصدّي للفكر التكفيري والظلامي.
مع الأسف فإنّ التيار الإخواني في ساحتنا المحليّة تنكر لهذه المهمّة وكان أداؤه مخاتلا في كل ما يتصل بالارهاب وتيارات التطرف، وقضيّة التنوير الكبرى التي باتت تطرح نفسها على مجتمعاتنا ليست قضيتهم ولا يرون فيها مصلحتهم، بل على العكس فالخطاب الإخواني غالبا ما ساهم فقط في تضليل الجمهور وتوجيهه بنفس الأدوات التي كانت بالأصل وراء وهم الغلو السلفي المتطرف، وكان يأخذ مسافة معينة عن الإرهاب بالقول ان هذه الأساليب خاطئة ليبررها تاليا بالعدوان والمظالم التي تتعرض لها الأمّة! واذا سنحت الفرصة فتبرئة الفاعلين من العمليات البشعة وتحميلها لقوى التآمر الغربية والصهيونية.
ليس غريبا والحالة هذه ان نرى هذا السلوك في قضيّة الزرقاوي. النائب محمد ابو فارس ذهب شوطا بعيدا في تمجيد الزرقاوي وخلع عليه لقب الشهيد وانكره على ضحاياه في تفجيرات عمّان. وقد أحرج زملاءه في التنظيم الذين يقولون إن الزرقاوي ارتكب أفعالا لا يقرّونها، لكنه مجاهد معترف به ضدّ أعداء الأمّة، أي انه في المعسكر نفسه!

خرجت هذه الانفلاتات القصوى وغير المسبوقة من صفوف التيارات الإسلامية. وداخل هذه التيارات كان يفترض لهذه الظاهرة المرعبة أن تحرك مراجعة عميقة وتاريخية فكرية وسياسية وبرامجية، وفي كل الأحوال الاضطلاع بمهمّة ومسؤولية التصدّي للفكر التكفيري والظلامي.
مع الأسف فإنّ التيار الإخواني في ساحتنا المحليّة تنكر لهذه المهمّة وكان أداؤه مخاتلا في كل ما يتصل بالارهاب وتيارات التطرف، وقضيّة التنوير الكبرى التي باتت تطرح نفسها على مجتمعاتنا ليست قضيتهم ولا يرون فيها مصلحتهم، بل على العكس فالخطاب الإخواني غالبا ما ساهم فقط في تضليل الجمهور وتوجيهه بنفس الأدوات التي كانت بالأصل وراء وهم الغلو السلفي المتطرف، وكان يأخذ مسافة معينة عن الإرهاب بالقول ان هذه الأساليب خاطئة ليبررها تاليا بالعدوان والمظالم التي تتعرض لها الأمّة! واذا سنحت الفرصة فتبرئة الفاعلين من العمليات البشعة وتحميلها لقوى التآمر الغربية والصهيونية.
ليس غريبا والحالة هذه ان نرى هذا السلوك في قضيّة الزرقاوي. النائب محمد ابو فارس ذهب شوطا بعيدا في تمجيد الزرقاوي وخلع عليه لقب الشهيد وانكره على ضحاياه في تفجيرات عمّان. وقد أحرج زملاءه في التنظيم الذين يقولون إن الزرقاوي ارتكب أفعالا لا يقرّونها، لكنه مجاهد معترف به ضدّ أعداء الأمّة، أي انه في المعسكر نفسه!

4 IAF deputies detained for 'inciting violence’
AMMAN (JT) — Four Islamist deputies were summoned by the prosecutor general on Sunday for questioning over comments “inciting violence,” government Spokesperson Nasser Judeh said.
In a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Judeh said the prosecutor ordered the four MPs from the Islamic Action Front (IAF), the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, held for further questioning on their comments praising dead Al Qaeda leader in Iraq Abu Mussab Zarqawi.
Earlier Sunday, Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit said the government would not tolerate any attempts to undermine the country’s stability, security and national unity.
Bakhit said the prosecutor general issued arrest warrants against the four deputies for violating the law and following complaints by many citizens, mainly relatives of victims of the Nov. 9 terror attacks. The attacks on three Amman hotels, claimed by Zarqawi’s group, left 60 dead and many others injured.
The victims’ families were infuriated by the four deputies’ statements praising Zarqawi, killed in a US raid in Iraq on Wednesday, as a “martyr” and a “holy warrior.”
The families are due to stage a sit-in in front of Parliament today in protest against the deputies’ visit on Friday to Zarqawi’s family in the central town of Zarqa, “to congratulate them on his martyrdom.”
They will also protest against comments made by one of these deputies, Mohammad Abu Fares (Amman Fifth District), saying “Zarqawi was a martyr and the November bombing victims were not.”
Such a statement, Bakhit told journalists, is intended to absolve Zarqawi from his guilt and encourage others to follow his “example in launching terror attacks on our sons and daughters.”
“They have installed themselves as the ones to decide who is a martyr and who is not. They decided that the innocent victims of the Amman bombings are not martyrs,” the premier said.
The government, the premier emphasised, will not allow anyone to use religion and mosque pulpits as a cover to incite violence and sedition.
Earlier in the day, legislators issued statements denouncing comments by the four MPs.
Senior parliamentarians sent a letter to His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday in which they voiced their disapproval of the four MPs’ comments.
Senate President Zeid Rifai called on the IAF to “question” the deputies for their “criminal act.”
“We are pained to witness such a show of support for terrorists even after their death, and offering respects to those who spilled innocent Arab and Muslim blood,” Rifai said in a letter carried by Petra.
Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali was equally critical of the move.
“Those who glorify infidels have strayed from the right path,” said Majali.
A statement issued by Lower House members also decried the visit and the comments, describing Abu Fares’ comment as “unprecedented and dangerous.”
Another deputy who visited the family rejected the accusations, saying the visits were undertaken with good intentions.
“We did not go to make a political stand. It is our duty to support Zarqawi’s family at this time,” said Deputy Ali Abul Sukkar (Zarqa Second District).
“Our sympathies are with the families of the victims of the hotel bombings. When those attacks took place, we visited these families and supported them also,” he added.
In addition to Abul Sukkar and Abu Fares, Ibrahim Mashoukhi (Zarqa First District) and Jaafar Hourani (Zarqa Fourth District) visited the Zarqawi family.
Late Sunday, the Muslim Brotherhood issued a statement denouncing the deputies’ detention, describing it as “a violation of basic constitutional rights,” and called for their release.

مجلس الامة يرفض تبرير الإرهاب واعتصام لذوي شهداء عمان اليوم
توقيف أربعة نواب إسلاميين على خلفية التعزية بالزرقاوي ووصف أحدهم له بالشهيد
عمان - أوقف الادعاء العام أمس أربعة من نواب حزب جبهة العمل الإسلامي على خلفية تقديمهم العزاء بالإرهابي أبي مصعب الزرقاوي ووصف أحدهم الزرقاوي بـ"المجاهد (و) الشهيد" واعتباره من يطلق صفة الشهادة على ضحايا تفجيرات عمان التي أعلن الزرقاوي مسؤوليته عنها "غوغائياً".
وأعلن الناطق الرسمي باسم الحكومة ناصر جودة في بيان بثته وكالة الأنباء الأردنية "بترا" اعتقال النواب علي أبو السكر وإبراهيم المشوخي وجعفر الحوراني ومحمد أبو فارس بناء على دعوة حركها ضدهم المدعي العام.
وأشار جودة إلى أن النائب العام قرر التحفظ على النواب الأربعة بعد استجوابهم حول تقارير أمنية وتصريحات صحافية متعلقة بالإرهابي أبي مصعب الزرقاوي "ما أدى إلى استفزاز مشاعر المواطنين (وما) يشكل مخالفة صريحة للقانون من حيث إثارة النعرات أو الحض على النزاع".
وقال إن عددا من أسر الشهداء الستين الذين ذهبوا ضحايا تفجيرات عمان في التاسع من تشرين الثاني (نوفمبر)الماضي قدموا شكاوى ضد النواب الأربعة.
وأعلن جودة أن المدعي العام بصدد استكمال التحقيق مع النواب، الذين ينص الدستور على أنهم لا يتمتعون بالحصانة حين لا يكون مجلس النواب منعقداً.
وجاء الاعتقال في ذات اليوم الذي دان فيه مجلسا الأعيان والنواب تصرف النواب الأربعة على أنه استفزاز لمشاعر الأردنيين .
ودان رئيس مجلس الأعيان زيد الرفاعي زيارة النواب الأربعة لبيت عزاء الزرقاوي. وقال في برقية رفعها إلى جلالة الملك عبد الله الثاني أمس "يقدمون العزاء لمن أراق الدم الأردني والعربي والإسلامي تحت مسميات واهية زائفة ويتحدون مشاعر من حملهم واودعهم ثقته لينوبوا عنه في شؤون حياته".
وأكد رئيس مجلس النواب عبدالهادي المجالي أن "من يمجد القاتل هو أقرب ما يكون إلى الضلال تحديدا".
وزاد "إذا ما كبا أو أخطأ نفر هنا أو هناك فإن على (الحركة الإسلامية) أن تتدبر الأمر بالحكمة والقرار الصائب، فهي الأولى بأن تكون في طليعة الداعين إلى سبيل الله بالحكمة".
واعتبر المكتب الدائم لمجلس النواب في بيان أصدره أمس تصريحات أبو فارس "خارجة عن إجماع الاسرة الأردنية الواحدة والذوق الوطني الأردني الشهم الاصيل".
وتصاعدت أمس حدة الإدانات لموقف النواب الذين زاروا بيت العزاء الذي أقامه ذوو الزرقاوي في مسقط رأسه في مدينة الزرقاء بعد قتله في عملية أميركية عراقية أردنية مشتركة مساء الأربعاء الماضي.
واعتبرت عديد كتل نيابية في بيانات أمس تصرف نواب الحركة الاسلامية عملاً يستدعي المساءلة القانونية وطالبت باتخاذ اجراءات رادعة بحقهم.
وانسجم موقف النواب الذي اعتبر تصرف نواب حزب جبهة العمل الإسلامي استفزازاً لمشاعر الناس وتبريراً للإرهاب مع موقف ذوي شهداء عمان الذين سيعتصمون أمام مجلس الأمة اليوم احتجاجاً على تصرف نواب الحركة الإسلامية.
وقالت اللجنة الوطنية للعسكريين القدامى في برقية بعثتها إلى رئيس مجلس النواب إن "من لا يؤمن بالثوابت الوطنية الاردنية لا يحق له أن يعطى منبرا وحصانة يستغلها للتعبير عن أحقاده تجاه الوطن والمواطن".
ولم تنأ الحركة الإسلامية أمس بنفسها عن الزيارة في بيانات لها وتصريحات لمسؤولين لكنها قالت إن النواب تصرفوا بشكل شخصي.
ودانت الحركة الإسلامية المواقف الصحافية والنيابية والحكومية التي رفضت تقديم أعضاء فيها العزاء بالزرقاوي ووصفه بالشهيد.
وادعت الحركة أن التحرك ضد نوابها هو استهداف سياسي للحركة، في الوقت الذي قال فيه مصدر رسمي إن تحرك المدعي العام كان ضد نواب بتهمة خرق القانون والتحريض على النزاع وليس ضد الحركة الإسلامية.
واعتبر المراقب العام للإخوان المسلمين سالم الفلاحات أنه "من حق أي مواطن أن يتحدث بالطريقة التي يراها".
واتهم الفلاحات كتابا انتقدوا الزيارة بـ"الموتورين الذين لهم ولاءات خارجية".
وزاد في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الإلكتروني للجماعة أمس أن "ما نسب إلى أبو فارس من حديث فهذا أمر يخصه، وإذا كان الحديث عن الشهادة والشهداء، وهل قتلى الفنادق شهداء أم غير شهداء، وهل الزرقاوي شهيد أو غير شهيد، فهذه مسائل شرعية فيها تفصيل وفيها آراء كثيرة مختلفة.
ونحن لا ننصب أنفسنا قضاة نحكم على هذا بالموت وهذا شهيد، فهذا امر متروك لله سبحانه".
من جهته، هاجم الأمين العام لحزب جبهة العمل الإسلامي زكي بني ارشيد مجلس النواب بعد إدانته تعزية النواب الإسلاميين بالزرقاوي.
واعتبر بني ارشيد أن الزرقاوي "مارس أنواعا من المقاومة المشروعة للاحتلال في العراق، ونحن نؤيد مقاومة الاحتلال بنفس الوقت الذي نستنكر فيه أي عمليات تستهدف المدنيين الأبرياء".
وكان الأردنيون عبروا عن إدانتهم للعمليات الإرهابية التي نفذها انتحاريون بأمر من الزرقاوي من خلال مسيرات واعتصامات عمت المملكة على مدى أيام في أعقاب تفجيرات الفنادق التي وقعت في 9 تشرين الثاني (نوفمبر) الماضي .
وأظهر استطلاع للرأي أجرته شركة ابسوس ستات لمصلحة "الغد" بعد 4 أيام من التفجيرات الإرهابية أن تسعة من كل عشرة أردنيين يعتبرون تنظيم القاعدة تنظيماً إرهابياً.
وقال 92.5% ممن تراوحت أعمارهم بين 25 و34 عاما أنهم يعتبرون تنظيم القاعدة تنظيماً إرهابياً.

Hosts Germany opened the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ finals with a 4-2 win over Group A rivals Costa Rica in Munich on Friday, 9 June 2006.
An exciting Opening Match produced three goals inside the first 17 minutes as Philipp Lahm fired Germany in front on six minutes, Paulo Wanchope drew the Ticos level six minutes later and then Miroslav Klose restored the Germans' lead.
Klose, celebrating his 28th birthday, made it 3-1 after 61 minutes and although Wanchope narrowed the deficit with his second goal on 73 minutes, Jurgen Klinsmann's men secured the three points through Torsten Frings' spectacular drive three minutes from time.

3': Germany’s Torsten Frings fired the first shot at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, a dipping effort which had Costa Rica goalkeeper Jose Porras well beaten, but the ball just cleared the crossbar and landed on the roof of the net.
6': The Mannschaft got off to a fantastic start as full-back Lahm cut inside on the left flank and curled a beautiful drive which clipped into the net off the far post to send Germany into an early lead (1-0).
12': After weathering the storm, Costa Rica provided the perfect riposte as Ronald Gomez released Wanchope who beat Germany's offside trap, sprinted clear and composed himself before sliding the ball past goalkeeper Jens Lehmann to score the equaliser (1-1).
17': Germany went in front again in probably the most spectacular start to an Opening Match in the rich history of the finals. Team captain Bernd Schneider fed Bastian Schweinsteiger from near the corner flag and his cross from just inside the area was turned home by Klose from two metres out to restore Germany’s advantage (2-1).

Hosts Germany opened the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ finals with a 4-2 win over Group A rivals Costa Rica in Munich on Friday, 9 June 2006.
An exciting Opening Match produced three goals inside the first 17 minutes as Philipp Lahm fired Germany in front on six minutes, Paulo Wanchope drew the Ticos level six minutes later and then Miroslav Klose restored the Germans' lead.
Klose, celebrating his 28th birthday, made it 3-1 after 61 minutes and although Wanchope narrowed the deficit with his second goal on 73 minutes, Jurgen Klinsmann's men secured the three points through Torsten Frings' spectacular drive three minutes from time.
The match:
3': Germany’s Torsten Frings fired the first shot at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, a dipping effort which had Costa Rica goalkeeper Jose Porras well beaten, but the ball just cleared the crossbar and landed on the roof of the net.
6': The Mannschaft got off to a fantastic start as full-back Lahm cut inside on the left flank and curled a beautiful drive which clipped into the net off the far post to send Germany into an early lead (1-0).
12': After weathering the storm, Costa Rica provided the perfect riposte as Ronald Gomez released Wanchope who beat Germany's offside trap, sprinted clear and composed himself before sliding the ball past goalkeeper Jens Lehmann to score the equaliser (1-1).
17': Germany went in front again in probably the most spectacular start to an Opening Match in the rich history of the finals. Team captain Bernd Schneider fed Bastian Schweinsteiger from near the corner flag and his cross from just inside the area was turned home by Klose from two metres out to restore Germany’s advantage (2-1).
24': Klose tried his luck from distance and Porras had an anxious moment as the drive bounced back off his chest but there was nobody in a white shirt on hand to capitalise on the rebound.
38': Wanchope provided Germany with a worrying moment of their own as he found himself in space again and lobbed the ball over Lehmann, but his attempt floated wide and play was called back for an offside flag against the striker.
