4 Iraqis identified as hotel attackers; woman would-be suicide bomber arrested — Muasher

AMMAN (JT) — Authorities arrested a woman who was a member of the suicide bombers who carried out attacks on three Amman hotels last week, a senior official said Sunday.

Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher said the suspect, Sajida Mubarak Atrous Al Rishawi, accompanied her husband, Ali Hassan Al Shumari, to Radisson SAS hotel on Wednesday night.

Muasher said the couple entered a banquet hall, where a wedding ceremony at Radisson SAS with the intention of blowing themselves up.

But the woman, dressed in a party attire, failed to detonate the explosive device strapped to her body, he said. According to Muasher, the husband forced her to leave the banquet hall and blew himself up.

He identified the other two bombers as Safar Mohammed Ali and Rawad Jasim Mohammed Abid, both 23 years old.
